Jazz, world music, and classical music meet at the Staatstheater Kassel

On October 18, 2026, two musical worlds meet at the Staatstheater Kassel – INTERIM: The Edgar Knecht Trio encounters the Staatsorchester Kassel for the first time. The focus is on a concert that combines jazz, world music, and European classical music.

The event brings together the sound language of the Edgar Knecht Trio and the possibilities of a large orchestra. This creates a musical evening that does not consider different styles separately but places them in a common concert context. Jazz, world music, and European classical music form the thematic and acoustic reference points of this special meeting.

A special concert in Kassel

The first encounter of the Edgar Knecht Trio with the Staatsorchester Kassel makes the evening an extraordinary date for music lovers in Kassel and the surrounding area. The connection of trio and orchestra opens a musical framework in which chamber music intimacy and orchestral richness can come together.

Anyone curious about cross-genre music will experience a concert with a special stylistic direction at Staatstheater Kassel – INTERIM. The event is aimed at all who wish to discover jazz, world music, and European classical music within a shared concert idea.
