Bazon Brock – 90 Years in Action

In honor of Bazon Brock, who will celebrate his 90th birthday on June 2, 2026, the documenta archive presents a glimpse into the rich estate of the art theorist for the first time. The studio exhibition brings together "theoretical objects," films, photos, and documents from all phases of his work and opens up Brock's thought universe along the history of documenta. At the center are his documenta visitor schools, his teaching actions, and their influential impact on the art communication of documenta. A digital version of the "Audiovisual Foreword," which launched documenta 5 in 1972, will also be on display.
