Volker Schönhals between Painting, Sculpture, and Space

With "in between II", the Kunstbalkon Kassel presents an exhibition featuring works by Volker Schönhals. The focus is on an artistic transition area between painting, sculpture, and spatial installation. The exhibition invites visitors to consider different forms of expression not separately, but in their connection.

Volker Schönhals moves between various artistic media in his works. Painterly elements, sculptural forms, and the design of space come into a common relationship. Thus, an exhibition arises in which not only individual works, but also their relationship to each other and to the surroundings plays a role.

Art between Image, Object, and Space

The title "in between II" refers to an area that eludes fixed classifications. The presented works combine characteristics of painting and sculpture and expand them with the dimension of spatial installation. Visitors can therefore experience the exhibition from different perspectives: as an observation of individual works, as an interplay of forms and as a spatial situation.

The Kunstbalkon Kassel provides the framework for this presentation of contemporary art. The exhibition is aimed at everyone interested in the connection of different media and planning a focused visit to a Kassel exhibition venue. Prior knowledge is not necessary for engaging with the works.
