Mission Starry Sky: A wordless journey of courage, loss, and connection
At the Children & Youth Film Festival 2026 at Filmladen Kassel, the door opens on October 14 to an extraordinary cosmic narrative. Mission Starry Sky accompanies young astronaut Celeste on her first mission to unexplored planets, combining science fiction, animation, and music into an impressive cinematic experience for children aged 8 and above.
An Astronaut between Future and Memory
Celeste follows in the footsteps of her mother, who once disappeared during a space mission. While she explores distant planets, Robot stays at home – the robot who raised Celeste. For Robot, a journey through loneliness, memories, and a changing modern world begins.
Musical Cinema without Words
Mission Starry Sky tells its story without spoken dialogue. Music, animation, and visual imagery carry the narrative, creating a special festival atmosphere in the cinema hall. The 86-minute production focuses on courage, loss, family bonds, and the things that connect people across great distances.
