Hackumenta 2026: A Journey Between Technology, Politics, and Art
On October 24 and 25, 2026, flipdot e.V. in Kassel will transform into an open space for exchange, knowledge, and collaborative tinkering. Under the motto lost in space, the Hackspace invites you to Hackumenta – a multi-day event that combines conference, workshop, exhibition, and creative hack sessions.
A Weekend for Curious Minds
The Hackumenta is aimed at people who want to not only consume technology but also understand, question, and shape it themselves. The program will feature exciting lectures, workshops, as well as crafting and hack sessions. The event experience connects digital topics with societal questions and creates space for encounters, discussions, and practical experiences.
Breakfast, Conversations, and New Perspectives
On both days of the event, the day will begin at 10 AM with a vegan breakfast and hot drinks. This relaxed start offers an opportunity to arrive, network, and get to know each other. The first talk on Saturday starts at 11 AM. The casual event atmosphere in the Hackspace makes Hackumenta particularly accessible and encourages direct conversations between technology enthusiasts, creatives, and politically engaged visitors.
From Digital Independence to Artificial Intelligence
Content-wise, Hackumenta consciously showcases a diverse range of topics. Issues will include digital independence, the impact of technology on climate change, electronic privacy, and artificial intelligence. Societal developments such as the resurgence of fascism will also find a place. The discussions will be complemented by topics from electronics, software, art, and science.
Event Planning with an Open Character
As a Hackspace event, Hackumenta emphasizes participation over distance. Lectures impart expertise, workshops invite experimentation, and hack sessions make technical ideas practically tangible. The organization thereby merges conference programs, educational offerings, and community meetings. This mix appeals to both experienced makers and curious beginners.
