Hackumenta – lost in space: Technology, Society and Joint Tinkering in Kassel
On October 24 and 25, 2026, the hackspace flipdot in Kassel will transform into an open meeting place for technology enthusiasts, creatives, net politicians, and curious visitors. Under the motto lost in space, the Hackumenta combines lectures, workshops, crafting and hack sessions with exchange, breakfast, and a vibrant community atmosphere.
With breakfast, hot drinks, and time to arrive
Both days of the event start relaxed at 10 AM with a vegan breakfast and various hot drinks. This creates space to arrive, network, and get to know each other before the professional program starts. The first talk on Saturday begins at 11 AM and opens a weekend that combines knowledge transfer and joint experimentation.
Between digital independence and artificial intelligence
The thematic range extends from digital independence and electronic privacy to the impact of technology on climate change. Artificial intelligence and the resurgent fascism are also among the announced focuses. The Hackumenta is aimed at an audience that wants not only to understand technical developments but also to socially categorize and shape them.
Lectures, workshops, and practical hack sessions
The event concept relies on different formats: expert lectures provide impulses, workshops promote direct exchange, and crafting as well as hack sessions invite practical tinkering. This mixture particularly defines the event experience in the hackspace: focused discussions are followed by joint experimentation, spontaneous ideas, and new contacts.
A hackspace as an open knowledge workshop
The conference is organized by the hackspace flipdot. The Kassel association sees itself as an open workshop where people from different backgrounds share knowledge, tools, and projects. This evolved community structure also shapes the event planning and ensures direct, accessible audience engagement without classic conference distance.
Conclusion: A weekend for curious minds
The Hackumenta – lost in space brings together current technology topics, societal debates, and practical creativity in one place. Those seeking new perspectives on digital self-determination, privacy, AI, and sustainable technology will experience a diverse conference weekend in Kassel with a personal atmosphere. Admission is free, a free ticket is recommended.
