The Community Center Korbach is a classic urban meeting and event venue with surprisingly versatile profile. Those looking for a centrally located venue will find not only a large hall here but also several usable rooms for culture, club life, seminars, family celebrations, exhibitions, and sports offerings. The building is located in the heart of Korbach's city center, in close proximity to St. Nicholas Church, the town hall, and the youth center, making it very well situated for visitors, groups, and organizers. Particularly practical: The city describes the building as barrier-free and functional, with an elevator to the upper floor, accessible toilets, and clear organizational processes for inquiries and bookings. At the same time, the Community Center connects history and the present, as it was opened in 1968 and energetically renovated in 2012. This transformed a municipal meeting place into a modern educational and meeting center that is still open to different target groups today. Events, Program, and Usage Options at the Community Center Korbach
The most important strength of the Community Center Korbach is its versatility. According to the city's information, it is suitable as a meeting place for cultural events, club activities, family celebrations, sports courses, meetings, seminars, and other formats. This makes the building not just an event hall, but a flexibly usable urban space that fulfills a real function in the daily life of the Hanseatic city. This is particularly advantageous for local clubs, initiatives, schools, social groups, or cultural actors, as the building brings together different types of use under one roof. In the official regulations, the Community Center is even explicitly described as a place for cultural, sports, religious, and youth welfare tasks; municipal self-administration, political groups, the fire department, and the care of elderly citizens also play a role there. This breadth shows that the building is not a specialized location for just one type of event, but is deliberately planned and operated as a multifunctional meeting point. In practice, this means: Whether it's a discussion evening, general meeting, workshop, rehearsal, anniversary, or exhibition, the Community Center is prepared for various formats. The municipal overview also lists specific room offers and technical aids that facilitate organizational efforts. Thus, organizers can not only use rooms but also inventory and equipment as needed. ([korbach.de](https://www.korbach.de/Stadt/Leben-Freizeit/Leben/Sportst%C3%A4tten-Veranstaltungsr%C3%A4ume/B%C3%BCrgerhaus/?utm_source=openai))
Particularly interesting is the mix of public use and reliable structure. Korbach's clubs, associations, and groups that are recognized as non-profit or deemed worthy of funding by the city can use the building free of charge under certain conditions if the event serves the statutory purpose. For other types of use, the usage regulations provide for a fee-based transfer, including a deposit in certain cases. This makes the Community Center a place that remains close to the citizens while enabling a regulated event operation. The lead times are also clearly regulated: Registration should occur at least three weeks before the event. Additionally, the responsible parties must specify the required times for setup and teardown and indicate the expected number of participants. This transparency is particularly important for event planning, as it creates security in room usage. For inquiries regarding programs, events, rentals, or usage, this is relevant, as the building is perceived not only as a structure but as municipal infrastructure. So, those looking for a central location in Korbach will find a place that is open for both fixed dates and individual occasions. ([korbach.de](https://www.korbach.de/Stadt/Leben-Freizeit/Leben/Sportst%C3%A4tten-Veranstaltungsr%C3%A4ume/B%C3%BCrgerhaus/?utm_source=openai))
Room Plan, Rooms, and Capacities at the Community Center Korbach
When it comes to room plans and spaces, the Community Center Korbach is particularly clearly structured. The largest and most important event unit is Room 101, which is designated as the hall. It has 168.44 square meters and can accommodate up to 199 people in row seating; with table seating, up to 120 places are possible. Thus, the hall is suitable for lectures, cultural events, larger celebrations, meetings, or presentations. Room 118 is significantly smaller at 91.58 square meters and is designed for up to 40 people in empty use or 16 to 20 people with table seating. Additionally, there is Room 19 on the ground floor with 77.38 square meters and table seating for up to 36 people. The gallery on the upper floor offers around 100 square meters of space for up to 70 people. Together, these specifications create a very flexible room system that ranges from smaller discussion formats to larger public events. For many users, this is crucial: One can not only rent a hall but also adjust the room size to the event. ([korbach.de](https://www.korbach.de/Stadt/Leben-Freizeit/Leben/Sportst%C3%A4tten-Veranstaltungsr%C3%A4ume/B%C3%BCrgerhaus/?utm_source=openai))
Moreover, the equipment functionally complements the rooms. The ground floor kitchen is equipped with a dishwasher, hot plates, refrigerator, dishes and cutlery, coffee machines, and thermos flasks, among other things. The kitchen on the upper floor is similarly equipped, additionally with a cooling cell. This significantly facilitates catering, club operations, and internal hospitality. Also available for booking are inventory items: projectors, flip charts, partition walls, microphones, and a podium are mentioned. For events with informational character, seminars, panel discussions, club evenings, or presentations, this is a real added value. The usage regulations also point out that the permissible number of people in the various rooms must be adhered to according to fire protection regulations, which is important for safe planning and room occupancy. Exactly from this arises the practical benefit of the Community Center: It is not a rigid event building but a combination of hall, multipurpose rooms, gallery, and infrastructure. Anyone wanting to understand a real room plan should therefore not only look at the large hall but at the entire room logic of the building. ([korbach.de](https://www.korbach.de/Stadt/Leben-Freizeit/Leben/Sportst%C3%A4tten-Veranstaltungsr%C3%A4ume/B%C3%BCrgerhaus/?utm_source=openai))
Access, Parking, and Barrier-Free Access at the Community Center Korbach
The location of the Community Center Korbach is particularly pleasant for visitors, as the building is located in the city center and in direct proximity to the historic old town. The city describes it as centrally located between the Gothic hall churches of St. Kilian and St. Nicholas, as well as in close proximity to the town hall and youth center. Additionally, it is mentioned that the building is about 1.2 kilometers from the train station and can be easily reached on foot. For visitors, this means: The Community Center is neither remote nor only accessible by car, but can also be conveniently integrated into the inner-city flow on foot. This central integration makes it particularly attractive for local events, city festivals, cultural appointments, or official occasions. At the same time, one should take the city's parking instructions seriously, as the Hanseatic city explicitly points out that paid parking spaces should be planned. This is important for travel planning, especially for larger events with multiple guests. ([korbach.de](https://www.korbach.de/Stadt/Leben-Freizeit/Leben/Sportst%C3%A4tten-Veranstaltungsr%C3%A4ume/B%C3%BCrgerhaus/?utm_source=openai))
A particularly relevant parking option mentioned by the city is the Obermarkt parking lot. It is located in the historic Neustadt, in direct proximity to the pedestrian zone and city center, and offers more than 60 parking spaces for cars. The prices are paid and staggered, which underscores the character of inner-city parking. For the Community Center, this parking lot is therefore an important point of contact, especially since it appears in the official recommendations in the vicinity of the building. Additionally, there are sufficient parking spaces for severely disabled individuals available in the adjacent Obermarkt parking lot. This complements the barrier-free access of the building itself and makes travel significantly easier for visitors with mobility impairments. Those arriving by car should therefore pay attention not only to the immediate proximity but also to the fee regulations. Those coming on foot benefit from the old town location and the short distance to the train station. Overall, the combination of central location, inner-city parking space, and barrier-free accessibility is a strong argument for the Community Center Korbach as an event location. ([korbach.de](https://www.korbach.de/Tourismus/Sehensw%C3%BCrdigkeiten/POI-Suche/Parkplatz-Obermarkt.php?FID=3889.33.1&La=1&ModID=47&NavID=3889.110&object=&utm_source=openai))
The barrier-free access is also described very concretely in the official presentation. The ground floor is accessible without steps, and the first upper floor is also accessible via an elevator. All rooms, except for those in the attic, are reachable without steps, and there are accessible toilets on both the ground floor and the first upper floor. For organizers, this is an important practical point, as it makes inclusive formats, senior events, public meetings, or cultural evenings easier to plan. The city also mentions that severely disabled visitors can find sufficient parking spaces in the adjacent Obermarkt parking lot. This combination of access, elevator, and parking space makes the Community Center open to various visitor groups. Especially for search terms like barrier-free, access, or parking, this is a clear advantage. The building thus fulfills not only a function as an event location but also as an accessible municipal meeting point. ([korbach.de](https://www.korbach.de/Stadt/Leben-Freizeit/Leben/Sportst%C3%A4tten-Veranstaltungsr%C3%A4ume/B%C3%BCrgerhaus/?utm_source=openai))
History, Renovation, and Special Location of the Community Center Korbach
The history of the Community Center Korbach is closely linked to the development of the city. According to the official presentation, the building was inaugurated in May 1968 as the 50th Community Center in Hesse. This fact is more than a historical footnote, as it shows that the building was part of a larger municipal development and meeting culture. Community centers of this kind served and continue to serve in many cities as places for community, assembly, education, and culture. In Korbach, this idea was later modernized: In 2012, the energy renovation was completed, and it was transformed into a modern educational and meeting center. This connects historical continuity with contemporary use. This is important for the external presentation, as the Community Center does not appear as a new building without history, but as a place with a developed function. This mix of tradition and modernization also makes the building interesting for events that require a municipal or cultural framework. Those looking for special features will find not only rooms but also an authentic urban address with history. ([korbach.de](https://www.korbach.de/Stadt/Leben-Freizeit/Leben/Sportst%C3%A4tten-Veranstaltungsr%C3%A4ume/B%C3%BCrgerhaus/?utm_source=openai))
The location reinforces this impression. The Community Center is centrally located in the Korbach old town, right next to St. Nicholas Church or in the vicinity of the historic churches of St. Kilian and St. Nicholas. The site is not only practical but also atmospherically well embedded. People coming for a lecture, an exhibition, or a celebration experience not just any peripheral location but a piece of city center with historical character. The proximity to the town hall and youth center also shows that the Community Center is integrated into a lively urban environment. This is exactly what makes its charm: One does not move in an isolated hall but in an urban space that connects administration, culture, everyday life, and meeting points. For visitors, this environment is easy to navigate, and for organizers, it is a clear advantage, as address finding, inner-city paths, and neighborhood references come together. When thinking of the building as a brand, the location is part of its identity. ([korbach.de](https://www.korbach.de/Stadt/Leben-Freizeit/Leben/Sportst%C3%A4tten-Veranstaltungsr%C3%A4ume/B%C3%BCrgerhaus/?utm_source=openai))
The use as an exhibition space is also an essential part of the profile. The city points out that regular exhibitions take place there, and other municipal pages name the Community Center as one of the exhibition venues for artists and cultural formats. Thus, the building is not only suitable for classic hall events but also for visual culture and time-limited presentations. This fits well with the image of a modern educational and meeting center, as such buildings thrive on open, multi-layered use. The combination of exhibition, assembly, club meetings, and celebration is therefore not a coincidence but part of the concept. Those looking for special features will find in the Community Center Korbach a building that connects historical development, municipal function, and cultural openness. Especially in local SEO, this mix is important, as searchers looking for Community Center, old town, events, and history often mean the same address, even if they ask different questions. ([korbach.de](https://www.korbach.de/Stadt/Leben-Freizeit/Leben/Sportst%C3%A4tten-Veranstaltungsr%C3%A4ume/B%C3%BCrgerhaus/?utm_source=openai))
Booking, Fees, and House Rules for the Community Center Korbach
For practical use, the booking is clearly regulated. The city requires information such as name, address, contact details, date and time frame of the event, as well as the required time for setup and teardown and the expected number of participants when making an inquiry. This is sensible because the rooms are used differently depending on size and seating arrangement, and the administration must ensure appropriate processes. Registration should occur at least three weeks before the date. If multiple inquiries are made for the same period, the first registration takes precedence. For private individuals and groups that do not fall directly under the public purpose, the city may still allow usage; in this case, fees and deposits are usually required. The Community Center is therefore municipal in nature but not exclusively reserved for the public sector. This open yet orderly access makes it a typical community center in the best sense. ([korbach.de](https://www.korbach.de/Stadt/Leben-Freizeit/Leben/Sportst%C3%A4tten-Veranstaltungsr%C3%A4ume/B%C3%BCrgerhaus/?utm_source=openai))
There is also transparency regarding costs. The usage regulations stipulate that room fees are calculated based on rooms and event days. Additionally, surcharges may apply for commercial or predominantly profit-oriented events. Surcharges are also planned for the heating period, and cleaning is carried out by municipal employees or according to the applicable regulations. Important for clubs and groups is also: Korbach clubs, associations, groups, charitable organizations, political local associations, the adult education center, and Korbach schools can be granted preferential or free access under the conditions specified in the regulations. This regulation shows that the building is deliberately intended as a support instrument for the local community. It is therefore not only a source of income but a public tool for education, culture, volunteer work, and cohesion. Anyone looking for a room for a meeting, workshop, or celebration should always keep the purpose of the event and the organizational framework in mind. ([korbach.de](https://www.korbach.de/PDF/Benutzungsordnung_Korbacher_B%C3%BCrgerhaus.PDF?Ext=PDF&ObjID=510&ObjLa=1&ObjSvrID=3889&WTR=1&_ts=1714119386))
For safe and orderly operation, additional house rules apply in the Community Center. The building must be treated with care, decorations may not simply be attached with nails, screws, or adhesive tape to floors, ceilings, beams, and walls, and the house should be left as clean and intact as it was entered. During the event, the entrance doors must remain unlocked, the rooms must be adequately ventilated, and the smoking ban must be observed. Furthermore, the permissible number of people in the individual rooms must not be exceeded, vehicles and bicycles should be parked in designated areas, and damages must be reported immediately. Additionally, bringing animals is prohibited, and the provisions of youth protection must be observed. For organizers, this is not a hurdle but rather a reliable operational basis. Because only with clear rules can a building that is meant to accommodate everything from cultural evenings to political or social events function. ([korbach.de](https://www.korbach.de/PDF/Benutzungsordnung_Korbacher_B%C3%BCrgerhaus.PDF?Ext=PDF&ObjID=510&ObjLa=1&ObjSvrID=3889&WTR=1&_ts=1714119386))
Practical Knowledge for Clubs, Celebrations, and Seminars at the Community Center Korbach
Those who want to use the Community Center Korbach effectively should incorporate the special mix of space, equipment, and city location into their planning. For small to medium formats, Room 118 or Room 19 is suitable, while for large lectures and festive occasions, the hall Room 101 is the most important option, and the gallery can offer additional atmosphere or exhibition space. Clubs particularly benefit from the fact that the building is flexible enough for board meetings, general meetings, rehearsals, training sessions, or cultural evenings. Family celebrations, on the other hand, appreciate the combination of kitchen, room offerings, and central location. Seminar groups benefit from technology such as projectors, microphones, and flip charts, while exhibitions can benefit from the gallery and the publicly accessible rooms. This multifunctionality is the true unique selling point of the building: It is not the one spectacular special function that matters, but the ability to bring together very different uses cleanly. ([korbach.de](https://www.korbach.de/Stadt/Leben-Freizeit/Leben/Sportst%C3%A4tten-Veranstaltungsr%C3%A4ume/B%C3%BCrgerhaus/?utm_source=openai))
For planning, it is also advisable to determine the number of participants early and choose the room size accordingly. The hall with up to 199 people is suitable for large groups, but it is not always the best solution if an intimate atmosphere or compact seating is desired. Room 118 or Room 19 may be more suitable for smaller groups, as they appear less empty and can often be used more economically. The kitchen spaces should also not be underestimated, as they create opportunities for catering and organization. Since the Community Center is located in the city center, clear communication about travel to guests should be formulated: proximity to the train station, central walking path, and parking at Obermarkt should be included in every invitation or directions. This way, a mere location becomes a well-functioning event. Those who pay attention to these points not only use a room but a coordinated municipal ensemble. ([korbach.de](https://www.korbach.de/Tourismus/Sehensw%C3%BCrdigkeiten/POI-Suche/Parkplatz-Obermarkt.php?FID=3889.33.1&La=1&ModID=47&NavID=3889.110&object=&utm_source=openai))
In summary, the Community Center Korbach is an event location with a clear address, understandable rules, and real added value for the city. It offers a historical embedding in the old town, modern accessibility, several room sizes, technical equipment, and a usage structure that covers both public and private occasions. This is exactly why the building is so relevant for inquiries regarding events, parking, access, capacity, Room 101, gallery, or barrier-free access. Those who want to understand the location should not only see it as a building but as a functional centerpiece of urban life. Thus, the Community Center Korbach fulfills exactly what a good community center should achieve: It connects people, provides space for different formats, and is simultaneously firmly anchored in the identity of the city.
Community Center Korbach | Events & Parking
([korbach.de](https://www.korbach.de/Stadt/Leben-Freizeit/Leben/Sportst%C3%A4tten-Veranstaltungsr%C3%A4ume/B%C3%BCrgerhaus/?utm_source=openai))
