Filmpalast Kassel | Program & Tickets
The Filmpalast Kassel at Karlsplatz 8 is located in the heart of downtown Kassel, near Friedrichsplatz, the Town Hall, and Königstraße. The venue combines a classic-elegant atmosphere with modern cinema technology and, thanks to 15 screens, IMAX, 4DX, ScreenX, and Dolby Atmos, it is much more than a regular multiplex. Those planning their next cinema visit will find a program featuring blockbusters, family films, special formats, and events. Online tickets are available 24/7, and according to the cinema, digital purchases save up to €1 per ticket. Thus, the Filmpalast Kassel is not only a destination for spontaneous movie nights but also for those who appreciate comfort, variety, and a central location. ([kassel.filmpalast.de](https://kassel.filmpalast.de/unser-kino/))
Program today, tomorrow, and ongoing films at Filmpalast Kassel
The program is one of the strongest reasons why the Filmpalast Kassel attracts so many different visitor groups. The official program overview consolidates the current cinema program, and the website clearly indicates where to find the showtimes. This is practical for anyone who wants to quickly know what is playing tonight, tomorrow, or over the weekend. The Filmpalast not only focuses on classic new releases but also on a mix of action, family cinema, original versions, and dubbed films, making a visit worthwhile for very different film tastes. Additionally, the site regularly features promotions, specials, and event announcements that expand the regular cinema program. These include special formats like sneak previews, premieres, cinema tours, or star visits, which are exactly the types of events that many search queries about programs and films revolve around. For those looking for something special instead of standard programming, there is more than just showtimes. The offerings are also well-suited for families, as the Filmpalast operates its own family and children's area called Lichtspielchen, where child-friendly events take place regularly. From an SEO perspective, it is important to note that the program level is not accidentally broad but part of its self-understanding as a premium cinema with an event character. The website speaks of a demanding film program that aims to appeal to both young and old alike. This is precisely what makes the search terms around program, films, today, and tomorrow so relevant: visitors want to know not only what is playing but also what atmosphere, target audience, and special features they can expect on-site. Tickets, prices, and cinema day on Tuesday
The ticketing clearly shows that the Filmpalast Kassel relies on clear pricing logic and digital booking. The official pricing page breaks down the regular admission prices by seat categories, special formats, and target groups. Tuesday is particularly attractive as cinema day: adults pay from €7.90, children under 12 from €6.50, while IMAX prices are higher and 4DX is even more expensive. There are also possible surcharges for 3D and ScreenX. Families benefit from a special family price on Sundays and public holidays, and there are separate rates for students and seniors. Those attending special events must note that different prices may apply, such as for concert broadcasts, film nights, or premieres. For search queries regarding prices and cinema day, it is also important that the cinema offers discounted tickets online: according to the website, up to €1 per ticket can be saved when buying online. Additionally, there is a practical advantage that is often more decisive in everyday life than the price itself: visitors can select their favorite seats in advance, thus avoiding queues at the box office. In the foyer, drinks and snacks can also be ordered at self-service terminals, which speeds up the visit. The site also explains that 3D glasses are available at the box office or snack counter and that free tickets can only be redeemed at the ticket counter. This turns a simple pricing question into a service question: the Filmpalast Kassel combines ticket purchase, seat selection, discounts, and special rates into a very clear visit model that appeals to both spontaneous visitors and planners. Parking, access, and central location at Karlsplatz
The location is one of the biggest advantages of the Filmpalast Kassel. The cinema is located right in the center of the Documenta city and is just a few minutes' walk from Friedrichsplatz, the Town Hall, and Königstraße. This central position explains why so many users search for parking, access, and phone: the visit is quickly planned, but the downtown location makes the parking question relevant. The website mentions the GALERIA parking garage as an important option for drivers, along with a note about discounted parking. At the same time, a recent announcement clearly states that the discounted parking offer is currently unavailable due to technical issues. This is important for visitors because while the location is convenient, the parking logic can vary depending on the current situation. Those arriving by public transport benefit from the proximity to the Rathaus and Fünffensterstraße stops, which the cinema describes as particularly convenient. For the search intent behind parking, phone, and photos, this is interesting because the external appearance of the building also plays a role: the Filmpalast is described on the website as a popular photo motif, which further enhances its downtown location. In practice, this means that the cinema is suitable for both a planned evening with prior booking and a spontaneous visit, as long as one keeps an eye on access and possible parking options. Those who want to be on the safe side can combine online ticket booking with a quick check of the current parking and traffic situation. This makes the visit to Kassel more manageable, and the central location unfolds its greatest advantage: short distances, good visibility, and a clear connection to the city center. ([kassel.filmpalast.de](https://kassel.filmpalast.de/unser-kino/))
IMAX, 4DX, ScreenX, and comfortable seating
The technical profile of the Filmpalast Kassel is one of the most important SEO and experience factors overall. The official site describes the cinema as a place where IMAX, 4DX, and ScreenX come together in one venue. This is complemented by Dolby Atmos in several halls, ensuring that not only the image quality but also the sound is delivered at a premium level. The technology page explains that IMAX works with a particularly large image and powerful sound, ScreenX expands the action onto additional side screens, and 4DX features moving seats and synchronized environmental effects such as wind, fog, water, or scent. This interplay makes the Filmpalast Kassel particularly attractive for search queries like 4dx, imax, and screenx. The website also notably states that this is the only cinema in Germany offering these latest cinema technologies together. For visitors, this means not only more spectacle but also more choice: those who prefer a classic movie experience can choose a regular hall; those seeking maximum immersion can opt for the special formats. Additionally, the seating categories are described in great detail. From designer chairs with adjustable backrests to wide upholstered seats with electric adjustment and inductive charging functions, to recliners and daybeds, the offerings are extensive. This is especially a strong argument for couples or longer films, as comfort is understood here not as an add-on but as part of the concept. In the larger technical halls, including several with Dolby Atmos, a cinema experience is created that consciously focuses on impact, comfort, and immersive effect. The 84 Extreme Motion Chairs and the more than 25 special effects highlighted on the homepage also show that the Filmpalast Kassel does not just show films but stages experiences. For many visitors, this is the decisive difference between a regular cinema and a destination for cinema fans. ([kassel.filmpalast.de](https://kassel.filmpalast.de/unser-kino/))
Vouchers, telephone service, and practical visitor information
Those searching for phone, vouchers, or practical information will also receive clear answers at the Filmpalast Kassel. The imprint lists the phone number 0561-70 17 17, and inquiries can be sent directly to the cinema via the service and contact form. The voucher purchase is also well organized on the official site: there is a dedicated voucher shop with suitable gifts for various occasions, including instant vouchers for printing. This is interesting for users looking for a last-minute gift or wanting to gift a cinema visit without having to be on-site. Additionally, the Filmpalast makes it clear that online tickets can be conveniently purchased from home or on the go and checked in on-site via QR code. The ticket counters open daily 15 minutes before the first film starts, allowing visitors to easily plan their schedules. The payment options are also extensive, ranging from debit cards to credit cards and digital services like PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Klarna. For the SEO keywords around tickets, prices, and vouchers, it is also important that the Filmpalast clearly explains its free ticket policy: free tickets can only be redeemed at the ticket counter for an admission ticket, and there may be restrictions for special events. It is also practical to note that online purchases are not only more convenient but save money compared to the cinema box office. Therefore, those preparing for the visit can effectively combine phone contact, the voucher shop, and online ticketing. This makes the customer journey simple: inform, book, save, and go directly to the cinema. This clarity is a strong argument for search intentions around service and vouchers, as the Filmpalast Kassel not only makes the film experience itself user-friendly but also the organization beforehand. ([kassel.filmpalast.de](https://kassel.filmpalast.de/impressum/?utm_source=openai))
New Kaskade, Lichtspielchen, and events for families and groups
A special component of the Filmpalast Kassel is the combination of cinema, event space, and family area. The New Kaskade connects to the Kassel cinema tradition and is described on the website as a modern interpretation of the historic Kaskade cinema. At the same time, it can be used independently of the cinema operation and can be accessed via the entrance on Fünffensterstraße as well as through the foyer. There is not only a place for movie nights but also a bar with its own character, suitable for concerts, readings, corporate events, or presentations. The bar's opening hours are clearly regulated, and regular value vouchers from the Filmpalast are accepted there. This is particularly valuable for groups, parties, and corporate formats, as it makes the cinema a versatile event venue. In parallel, the Lichtspielchen serves as a family and children's hall, providing a strong counterpoint to the large event world: bean bags, sofas, large LED screens, a play area, and a slide ensure that the stay becomes an experience even before the film begins. The site emphasizes that family cinema, anime nights, or other child-friendly formats take place regularly there. Additionally, children's birthdays can be organized at the Filmpalast with fixed packages, including a film from the current program. For search queries regarding photos, films, and programs, this is relevant because the Filmpalast not only shows content but also offers experiential spaces that function differently. The venue is also prepared for hall rentals: the smaller studio cinemas offer 31 seats, while medium and large halls accommodate over 300 seats, and all rooms are equipped with connections for microphones, laptops, and other technology. This makes the Filmpalast Kassel a location that is not limited to a single purpose. It functions as a cinema, family venue, event location, and meeting point in downtown Kassel simultaneously. This mix of film, gastronomy, and events makes the location so interesting for visitors, groups, and organizers. Such a great place for films lovers. Well maintained, nice and clean environment, friendly staffs. Thank you for having the 4Dx experience, German is lucky to have you. Definitely worth my ride all the way here from Frankfurt.

I was here to see Oppenheimer in IMAX. The film centre is very big and has many screens. The imax experience was great with a huge screen and engaging sound system. The electronically adjustable seats in imax were comfortable and had a wireless charging function. The people at reception were nice and they also offer a parking voucher for 5.5€ if your vehicle is parked at Galeria Kaufhof (24*7 parking). Since openheimer was more than 3 hours, we had to pay a few Euro more for the parking. It would have been nice if we don't need to pay for the parking. I would love to see films again here and I recommend it. Please try to solve the parking issue.

Great movie place, each room is held in a different place. Easy to get tickets and if you have online tickets it's even more faster to go through the entry. imax experience was also good.

Such a great cinema! It's coming together very nicely, can't wait to see it after all the work is done. The IMAX screen looks very impressive! The seats had a wireless charging spots on them for your phone, very cool :)

We had such a great experience, sounds effects are just perfect, seats are comfortable adjustable and featured with a wireless charger, a USB slot and a cup holder.
