Tour 2026, Exhibition Hall, and Annual Exhibitions

The tour is the most visible public event of Kunsthochschule Kassel and at the same time one of the strongest search topics related to the location. In 2026, the university will open its doors for the tour from July 9 to 12, which are the open house days. Admission is free, no registration is required, and workshops, studios, and studios of the study programs Fine Arts, Design, Art Education, Art Science, and Visual Communication invite visits. ([kunsthochschulekassel.de](https://kunsthochschulekassel.de/veranstaltungen/rundgang-2026.html?utm_source=openai))

The tour is more than just a showcase. The official description speaks of a vibrant ideas laboratory and a semester exhibition that provides insights into the creative and critical engagement with built living spaces. At Kunsthochschule Kassel, the tour is the format with which at the end of the summer semester, workspaces are opened for the grand final presentation. This strengthens the direct contact between students, teachers, guests, and interested parties and makes the work process itself the content. Therefore, those searching for Kunsthochschule Kassel exhibition often mean this mixture of finished results, experimental openness, and public presentation. The tour is also embedded in the calendar of annual exhibitions, which also includes EXAMEN and other formats. This shows that Kunsthochschule does not only live from individual projects but from a recurring rhythm of public visibility. ([uni-kassel.de](https://www.uni-kassel.de/fb06/oeffentliche-veranstaltungen/rundgang.html))

An especially important component of this public profile is the exhibition hall of Kunsthochschule Kassel. Since early 2022, the university has had its own hall in the courtyard of the North Building. On an area of 450 square meters, students can develop and present exhibitions, screenings, readings, and performances. The hall is both a communication place and an experimental space for artistic, design, and curatorial practice. It was financed with around 4 million euros from the Higher Education Pact 2020. The architectural reference is also remarkable: Paul Friedrich Posenenske had already planned a building at this location, which the new building of the Austrian office Innauer Matt Architects refers to. Therefore, those searching for Kunsthochschule Kassel exhibition hall will find a place where architecture, history, and present come together directly. ([kunsthochschulekassel.de](https://kunsthochschulekassel.de/kunsthochschule/ausstellungshalle.html?utm_source=openai))

The annual exhibitions additionally bundle this public work. The official page lists tour, EXAMEN, and GBB_edits as central formats. EXAMEN 2026 will take place at the end of the year from December 9 to 13 in the documenta hall in Kassel and will showcase final projects from Fine Arts, Visual Communication, and Design. This is particularly important for the search intention exhibition and tour because it shows that the Kunsthochschule is not only visible within its campus but also impacts other exhibition venues in the city. The exhibition hall complements this calendar with a place where larger collaborations and interdisciplinary projects can also take place. Therefore, those wishing to experience Kunsthochschule Kassel should not only pay attention to the semester start or academic advising but also to the exhibition cycle in summer and winter. ([kunsthochschulekassel.de](https://kunsthochschulekassel.de/kunsthochschule/jahresausstellungen.html?utm_source=openai))

Library and Course Catalog at Kunsthochschule Kassel

The Kunsthochschule library is a central part of everyday life on campus and a highly sought-after topic in search queries. The location is at Menzelstr. 13 in Kassel, in room 1613, and is managed by Katrin Rhodius. The University of Kassel operates the Kunsthochschule as one of its library locations, where academic work and learning can take place both individually and in groups. This is particularly relevant for students of the Kunsthochschule because not only books are available here, but also subject-specific collections and work areas for the respective study programs. Therefore, those searching for Kunsthochschule Kassel library are not looking for just any general library but a place tailored to art, design, and visual practice. ([uni-kassel.de](https://www.uni-kassel.de/ub/ueber-uns/organisation/mitarbeiterseiten/katrin-rhodius.html))

The library is closely linked to the study programs and workshops. In the subject-specific descriptions of the university library, it is stated that the collections on art and visual communication are mostly located in the Kunsthochschule library at the Kunsthochschule location. This makes it clear that the library is not merely a secondary offering but a core location of teaching. Additionally, there are opportunities for quiet and focused work as well as designated individual and group work areas at the university's library locations. For the Kunsthochschule, this is particularly helpful because artistic and theoretical works often arise in close exchange. Therefore, those planning research, seminar preparation, or portfolio work will find exactly the right context at the Kunsthochschule library. The library is thus both a repository of knowledge and a workspace. ([uni-kassel.de](https://www.uni-kassel.de/ub/lernen/lernort-bibliothek.html?utm_source=openai))

Closely linked to this is the course catalog. On the page for the study programs of the Kunsthochschule, the course catalog is explicitly linked as a direct service. For the search intention Kunsthochschule Kassel course catalog, this is important because it shortens the path from information to actual study operation. The university also refers to Moodle, Panopto, and the university library, which shows that courses, digital materials, and access to literature are considered together. For those interested in Art Science, Design, or Visual Communication, this is a good indication that the university supports both analog workshop work and digital study organization. The course catalog is thus not just a list of dates but the bridge between the selection of the study program and the concrete semester plan. ([uni-kassel.de](https://www.uni-kassel.de/uni/studium/alle-studiengaenge/studiengaenge-der-kunsthochschule.html))

Those dealing with Kunsthochschule Kassel photos or logo will also discover a strong visual identity on the official pages. The Kunsthochschule works with its own website and a clear corporate identity, which is also reflected in image series, exhibition documentation, and downloadable materials. Particularly the library and exhibition pages are visually rich and make it clear that the image of the university is consciously maintained. This is helpful for seekers because visual impressions are often just as important as pure facts. The Kunsthochschule does not present itself as an anonymous institution but as a place with a clear aesthetic language that is reflected in the website, exhibitions, and printed materials. ([kunsthochschulekassel.de](https://kunsthochschulekassel.de/kunsthochschule/portraet/autonomie.html))

Cafeteria, Cafeteria, and Campus Life

In the search queries related to Kunsthochschule Kassel, cafeteria and cafeteria appear very frequently because everyday life at a university location is not just about teaching. The cafeteria/cafeteria Kunsthochschule is located at Menzelstraße 13, is open Monday to Friday from 9 AM to 3 PM, and offers 90 seats. The menu includes lunch, hot and cold drinks, rolls, salads, snacks, and desserts. This makes it a compact but important meeting point in university everyday life, where students, staff, and guests can meet between workshops, seminars, and exhibitions. Therefore, those searching for Kunsthochschule Kassel cafeteria will find a very concrete service with clear opening hours and an offer tailored to the campus. ([studierendenwerk-kassel.de](https://www.studierendenwerk-kassel.de/en/essen-trinken/menzelstrasse/mensa))

The cafeteria is also accessible with minimal barriers: The cafeteria entrance from the Aue is step-free, and access is via the courtyard. This is an important detail because it makes the location practical and inclusive. The pages of the Studentenwerk Kassel also refer to the current menu and allergen and dietary information. Thus, the cafeteria remains not only practical but also transparent. For many visitors, this mix of functionality and reliability is particularly important: One can rely on opening hours, location, and offerings without having to search long. The campus life at Kunsthochschule thus becomes visibly less formal and significantly more accessible. ([studierendenwerk-kassel.de](https://www.studierendenwerk-kassel.de/en/essen-trinken/menzelstrasse/mensa))

Campus life also includes family-friendly and quiet spaces. The pages of the University of Kassel mention a quiet and reclining room next to the cafeteria at the Kunsthochschule location, and a toy box is available for borrowing in the cafeteria. Additionally, there are indications of parent-child rooms at various university locations. These details are not spectacular, but they show that the Kunsthochschule is not only conceived as a place of artistic production but also as an everyday living space. Especially for longer stays, for parents, for intensive work phases, or for visitors of the tour, this is a real added value. Therefore, those wishing to understand Kunsthochschule Kassel as a vibrant place should also consider these small infrastructures. ([uni-kassel.de](https://www.uni-kassel.de/hochschulverwaltung/themen/gleichstellung-familie-und-diversity/family-welcome-und-dual-career-service/familienfreundlicher-campus.html?utm_source=openai))

The cafeteria and cafeteria are also well integrated into the overall location. During the lecture period, there is hot lunch as well as snacks, hot and cold drinks for breaks at the Kunsthochschule. This makes the cafeteria a hub between teaching, library, workshops, and exhibition hall. For search terms like Kunsthochschule Kassel photos or Kunsthochschule Kassel logo, this may only be indirectly relevant, but it is very important for the perception of the place: Images of everyday life, the dining area, and the open atmosphere shape the overall image of the university. Kunsthochschule Kassel thus does not appear as an isolated educational complex but as a campus with clear, usable, and visible places where the day can be well structured. ([studierendenwerk-kassel.de](https://www.studierendenwerk-kassel.de/kontakt/lageplan-kassel/?utm_source=openai))

Directions, Address, and Accessibility in Kassel

The address is the quickest entry point for many search queries, which is why Kunsthochschule Kassel address is one of the most important keywords. The official location is at Menzelstraße 13–15 in 34121 Kassel. The university is located between Frankfurter Straße with its shops, galleries, bars, and restaurants, and Karlsaue, thus in a location that is urban and quiet at the same time. This combination is attractive for students and visitors because the way is not only functional but also urbanistically appealing. Those visiting the tour, attending a consultation, or simply wanting to gain an impression of the university will find a place that is well integrated into the cultural and everyday life of Kassel. ([kunsthochschulekassel.de](https://kunsthochschulekassel.de/en/service/about-us.html))

The directions are also clearly described. The nearest stop is Heinrich-Heine-Straße/Universität. Tram lines 5 and 6 as well as the Regio-Tram RT5 stop there; from there it is about a five-minute walk towards Auepark to Menzelstraße. Those coming from Kassel-Wilhelmshöhe station first take tram line 3 towards Ihringshäuser Straße to Kassel Rathaus and then transfer to tram line 5 towards Baunatal. Thus, Kunsthochschule Kassel is well accessible by public transport, which is particularly important for visitors of the tour, exhibition hall, or cafeteria. The official directions make the visit planable and significantly lower the barrier for first-time visits. ([uni-kassel.de](https://www.uni-kassel.de/uni/universitaet/kontakt-und-standorte/standort-menzelstrasse/))

The exhibition hall is also well located in the site concept. It is located in the courtyard of the North Building, with the address Menzelstr. 13, 34121 Kassel, between the lecture hall building and the North Building. This creates a compact campus area where teaching and presentation spaces are closely located. This is ideal for the everyday life of the university because the paths remain short and many functions are concentrated in one place. In connection with the library, cafeteria, workshops, and study rooms, a clear and very diverse ensemble emerges. Especially the proximity between public exhibition and internal production makes the location so distinctive. ([kunsthochschulekassel.de](https://kunsthochschulekassel.de/kunsthochschule/ausstellungshalle.html))

Accessibility is also a relevant topic at the location. The cafeteria is step-free accessible via the entrance from the Aue, and the Kunsthochschule pages have a dedicated service topic on accessibility as well as information on arrival and room finder. This is important for a university with public traffic, especially when events like tours or exhibition openings take place. Those who inform themselves in advance can plan their visit much better. This shows that Kunsthochschule Kassel is not only open in content but also tries to be spatially accessible. For people coming from search queries like Kunsthochschule Kassel address, tour, or exhibition hall, this is a crucial practical added value. ([kunsthochschulekassel.de](https://kunsthochschulekassel.de/kunsthochschule/ausstellungshalle.html))

Product Design, Design, Visual Communication, and Job Offers

The study programs at Kunsthochschule Kassel are among the most frequently searched topics because many users directly search for disciplines. Officially, the university offers artistic degrees in Fine Arts and Visual Communication, a Bachelor's in Design and Art Science, a Master's in Art Science, and Art in Teacher Education. Additionally, the English and German pages make the departments and workshops visible, which is relevant for SEO analysis: Product Design, Design, and Visual Communication are not just buzzwords but defining components of the university profile. Those looking for a creative study location with workshop reference will find a clear offer that connects theory, practice, and interdisciplinary work. ([uni-kassel.de](https://www.uni-kassel.de/uni/studium/alle-studiengaenge/studiengaenge-der-kunsthochschule.html))

Particularly prominent is the role of the workshops. The Kunsthochschule has 14 workshops and emphasizes a working model that connects to the traditions of the Bauhaus. The website showcases workshops such as Digital Design & Production Methods, Photography, Wood, Plastic, Books & Paper, Print & Print Design, Ceramics, Metal, Screen Printing, Textiles, Typography, and Lithography & Gravure Printing. This shows that design at Kunsthochschule Kassel is not abstract but anchored in material-related and craft processes. This is exactly why search terms like Kunsthochschule Kassel product design or Kunsthochschule Kassel design work so well: They refer to a place where design practice takes place in real spaces. ([uni-kassel.de](https://www.uni-kassel.de/uni/universitaet/kontakt-und-standorte/standort-menzelstrasse/))

Content-wise, the profile idea also becomes clear. Kunsthochschule is located in direct proximity to the study programs Fine Arts, Art Education, Art Science, Visual Communication, and Product Design, which collaborate in exchange with the study workshops. This juxtaposition promotes exactly the kind of interdisciplinary work that is expected in modern art and design study programs. Furthermore, the university is closely linked to the cultural environment in Kassel, among other things through documenta, museums, and the city as an art location. For seekers who want to know more about photos, logo, or the visual appearance of the Kunsthochschule, this is important: The institution consciously presents itself as a design-oriented place with its own visual language and appearance. ([stellen.uni-kassel.de](https://stellen.uni-kassel.de/jobposting/e22ee6c9b88f1982834cd7d1e6f3f83edb420a28))

Regarding job offers, it is worth taking a look at the central job portal of the University of Kassel. Regularly, announcements appear that also concern the Kunsthochschule. Recently, among other things, a W 3 professorship for Artistic Practice in the basic class of the Fine Arts program and a scientific or artistic position in the field of Art Education were advertised. For the search intention Kunsthochschule Kassel job offers, this means: The suitable position is not necessarily found on a separate subpage of the university but often through the university's job portal. For applicants, this is practical because it consolidates academic careers, artistic work, and teaching activities in one place. Kunsthochschule Kassel thus also shows a clear profile in the personnel area: open to artistic excellence, interdisciplinary, and closely linked to the university. The Kunsthochschule does not present itself as an anonymous institution but as a place with a clear aesthetic language that is reflected in the website, exhibitions, and printed materials.

Large university with many different opportunities to study. Most classes are open to students from other faculties, happy and eager to share their knowledge. The concept is very relaxed and leaned back but the student needs to invest their energy and time into making things happen to keep their studies going and making them fruitful. While I may not like the building architecture, many people have made sure to inform me that it is a beautiful masterpiece and worth visiting. Cafeteria is cheap but the staff is usually very kind, there are vegetarian options and a salad bar, as well as snacks. However: the main lecture hall has a small stair elevator (I am unsure how to access it), the library has no elevator and is inaccessible. The accessible bathroom in the Nordbau (north portion of university) has no signs pointing out its position as of the time of writing this review.

Even if not studying here, come and see the great architecture by Paul Friedrich Posenenske, have a drink in the cafeteria and continue to the Karlsaue.

The entrance to the exhibition room is extremely poorly marked. The address, Menzelstraße 13, is of no help at all. Best entrance from the Karlsauen.
