Wehlheider Hoftheater e.V. | Program & Schedule

The Wehlheider Hoftheater e.V. is one of the prominent amateur theater addresses in Kassel, as it serves multiple search intents at once: program, schedule, photos, tickets, directions, and the question of the special atmosphere of a small venue. The association describes itself as non-profit and mentions approximately 100 members, a large proportion of whom are children and young people. This is an important indication for anyone looking for not just a performance venue, but a vibrant club life. With 99 seats in the theater hall, a space is created where the audience sits close to the stage, making the performances feel particularly direct. This proximity is a key part of the appeal: one experiences theater not from the distance of a large multi-genre house, but from a compact, personal, and very concentrated setting. ([wehlheider-hoftheater.de](https://www.wehlheider-hoftheater.de/index/ueber-uns/))

Historically, the venue also has a lot of substance. The dedicated history page traces the beginnings back to 1911 and describes the development from the Free Literary Association through the Kassel Amateur Stage from 1911 to the present Wehlheider Hoftheater. Later, there were revivals, parades, and a reorganization of the performance operations before the user community established itself in the former cinema hall on Jordanstraße. The performance venue page describes this place as the former Movie cinema, which is now used as CassallaTheater. This connects the house's nostalgic theater tradition with a clear, functional performance venue in Kassel-Wehlheiden. For seekers, this is relevant because they find not just a single piece here, but a stage with a developed identity, a clear address, and a profile that has been maintained for many years. Program and Schedule at Wehlheider Hoftheater e.V.

The schedule of the Wehlheider Hoftheater is deliberately structured and follows a clear annual logic. On the about us page, the association mentions four pieces per year: In March, the season begins with a children's play featuring only children and young people on stage. This is followed by two productions for adults in April or May and in September or October. The season concludes with another magical children's play during the pre-Christmas period. This planning is very sensible for an amateur theater as it consolidates rehearsals, premieres, revivals, and family audiences in a comprehensible rhythm. Those searching for wehlheider hoftheater program or wehlheider hoftheater schedule usually want exactly this orientation: What is happening when, for whom is the piece intended, and what rhythm does the stage work throughout the year? ([wehlheider-hoftheater.de](https://www.wehlheider-hoftheater.de/index/ueber-uns/))

The official schedule page shows that the association takes the digital calendar seriously. There, dates, performance series, and notes on online ticket sales are consolidated. At the same time, the page makes it clear that tickets can be purchased or reserved online up to 30 minutes before the performance begins, and afterwards only the box office remains. This is particularly convenient for visitors, as spontaneous theater evenings can be planned just as easily as early organized family or group visits. The fact that the website additionally shows rehearsal photos and images related to the pieces significantly increases its utility: one does not just get a bare list of dates but a small visual impression of the current program. Especially in a theater with changing children's and adult pieces, this combination of dates, photos, and clear reservation information is ideal for making quick decisions. Tickets, Reservations, and Discounts

The ticket organization of the Wehlheider Hoftheater is pleasantly down-to-earth yet well-structured. On the ticket page, the association lists several ways to gain entry: Reservations can be made by phone at 0561-766 16 93, as well as through the Kulturpunkt Kassel at Friedrich-Ebert-Straße 42. Additionally, the website offers online booking, which is particularly interesting for those who want to secure their seats comfortably from home. For the Christmas piece, there is even an email order according to the website, but explicitly only for this production. This addresses the most common search queries regarding wehlheider hoftheater tickets and wehlheider hoftheater reservation very concretely, without visitors having to search long for the rules. ([wehlheider-hoftheater.de](https://www.wehlheider-hoftheater.de/index/karten/))

Particularly positive are the discounts. Students of the University of Kassel with a culture ticket receive free admission, although prior registration is requested. Furthermore, holders of the FamilienApp Hessen receive a discount of 2 euros for each family member on the regular admission price. These regulations show that the association not only thinks of its regular audience but also specifically addresses young people and families. In practice, this is a real plus, as culture thus appears not as a luxury but as an accessible leisure offer. So, anyone looking for a family-friendly theater evening or an affordable cultural opportunity in Kassel will find clear and fair conditions here. Together with the option to book online until shortly before the performance begins, a visiting model emerges that is both planable and flexible. Directions, Address, and Performance Venues in Kassel

For directions, one thing is especially important: The Wehlheider Hoftheater does not perform at a single fixed address for all productions but uses different locations in Kassel depending on the format. The official contact page lists the main performance venue as CassallaTheater, Jordanstraße 11, 34117 Kassel. Additionally, for the Christmas piece, the Heinrich-Schütz-Schule at Freiherr-vom-Stein-Straße 11, 34119 Kassel is specified. The postal address of the association is located at Friedrich-Naumann-Straße 26, 34131 Kassel. Therefore, anyone planning a visit should always check which piece is on the schedule and then choose the corresponding venue. This differentiation is crucial, especially when searching for wehlheider hoftheater directions or the address. ([wehlheider-hoftheater.de](https://www.wehlheider-hoftheater.de/index/kontakt-anfahrt/?utm_source=openai))

For visitors, this means: The journey is uncomplicated if one correctly assigns the respective performance venue. The website relies on clear information rather than complicated visitor guidance. The association does not mention a special shuttle service or extraordinary parking concepts in the visible official information, so it is advisable to plan the journey early based on personal circumstances and keep an eye on the specific venue. For many theater guests, this clarity is an advantage, as they can quickly see where they need to go and coordinate their paths directly with ticket purchase and start time. Those who want to start the evening in Kassel relaxed benefit from the fact that all important basic data are centrally summarized on the contact page: performance venue, postal address, email, and phone. This is not spectacular, but extremely practical. ([wehlheider-hoftheater.de](https://www.wehlheider-hoftheater.de/index/kontakt-anfahrt/?utm_source=openai))

99 Seats, Hall Plan, and Theater Experience

The hall of the Wehlheider Hoftheater is small enough with 99 seats to create intimacy and large enough to regularly accommodate a diverse audience. On the performance venue page, the association points out that the stage has been performing in the former cinema hall since 1988 and that up to 75 performances take place there each year. These numbers are central to the impact of the house. They show that the theater does not rely on mass but on repetition, reliability, and direct presence. With 99 seats, one quickly feels how much language, facial expressions, and timing shape the atmosphere. For people who enjoy theater-close, intimate, and almost familial evenings, this is a clear argument. ([wehlheider-hoftheater.de](https://www.wehlheider-hoftheater.de/index/spielort/))

The origin as a former cinema additionally gives the space character. The use of a former cinema hall as a theater venue often leads to a clear, functional audience situation that prioritizes good visibility, short distances, and immediate impact over large architectural monumentality. This fits the profile of an amateur theater that works with much dedication and club work. Those looking for a detailed hall plan will primarily find practical information regarding reservations on the website; the focus is thus less on a complex seating system and more on uncomplicated visitor organization. From this, a very practical theater experience can be derived: simply reserve, arrive, take a seat, and enjoy the action up close. This approach is pleasantly low-threshold, especially for families, club members, and occasional theater guests. ([wehlheider-hoftheater.de](https://www.wehlheider-hoftheater.de/index/spielplan/))

History and Association: From 1911 to Today

The history of the Wehlheider Hoftheater begins in 1911 with the Free Literary Association. In the chronicle, the association describes how this initiative evolved into a initially small, then continually developed theater work. There were early performance periods with limited resources, difficult phases during World War I, a later expansion of the repertoire, and finally cuts due to political developments in the 20th century. After World War II, there were again mergers and reorientations until the old name Wehlheider Hoftheater came back into focus. This long line explains why the association today does not appear as a random city stage but as a developed cultural institution in the amateur sector. Those interested in wehlheider hoftheater history will find here not a superficial anniversary note but a genuine tradition story. ([wehlheider-hoftheater.de](https://www.wehlheider-hoftheater.de/index/geschichte/))

Today, the association presents itself as a non-profit stage with a clear club structure. The website states that around 100 members are active, a large part of whom are children and young people. The pages on youth and cultural competence certification show that the association not only produces performances but also creates educational and developmental spaces. The BKJ competence certificate documents skills that young members acquire and demonstrate in the theater project. Additionally, the integration into the Association of Hessian Amateur Theaters and the BDAT connects the association beyond the local level. For visitors, this means: Behind each performance stands not just an evening program but a stable, intergenerational club model that brings together stage, youth, technology, costumes, makeup, and stage construction. ([wehlheider-hoftheater.de](https://www.wehlheider-hoftheater.de/index/ueber-uns/))

Photos, Rehearsal Images, and Special Impressions

Those searching for wehlheider hoftheater photos will quickly find what they are looking for on the official website. The schedule page not only shows performance dates but also rehearsal photos and image material related to the respective productions. This is particularly valuable for a theater of manageable size, as images often convey the character of a production faster than long descriptive texts. One can immediately see whether a production is lively, poetic, child-friendly, classical, or comedic. For potential visitors, this is a real advantage in orientation: Even before purchasing tickets, one can assess what tone an evening will have and whether the piece fits their expectations. ([wehlheider-hoftheater.de](https://www.wehlheider-hoftheater.de/index/spielplan/))

The website itself emphasizes this impression of closeness and community. On the ticket page, the association refers to Facebook and Instagram, and on the association pages, there are additionally guest books, newsletters, and direct contact options. This fits very well with a theater that thrives on club work and not only sells performances but invites an audience to return, participate, and take a look. For the search intent photos, this is helpful, as interested parties receive an immediate and official insight instead of relying on random external sources. Together with the familial hall size, the long history, and the clear schedule, a picture emerges of a theater that does not need to make a loud appearance to be present. It convinces rather through authenticity, continuity, and the visible joy of playing. ([wehlheider-hoftheater.de](https://www.wehlheider-hoftheater.de/index/karten/))

I've been to almost every play at the Wehlheider Hoftheater in recent years – and I've been thrilled every time! This small, traditional theater (with roots dating back to 1911) is full of heart and passion. The performances take place in the cozy Cassalla Theater with only about 99 seats – you sit really close and experience the acting up close. With the musical "Sepp Tempbar," the ensemble has shown how versatile they are: around 18 participants, quick costume changes, and even a tap dance number – and you can feel that they really give their all! Whether music pieces are on the program more often or not, the Wehlheider Hoftheater definitely proves that theater is made here with great dedication. Usually, there’s a new play in spring and autumn, and during Christmas time, there’s a family piece for kids, parents, and grandparents. Tickets can be easily booked online with seat numbers, and there’s even accessible access. A true piece of theater culture in Kassel – small, heartfelt, and absolutely recommendable!

Very nice for the whole family. There are plays for adults and children. There’s something for everyone eventually. There are also theater courses for both adults and children. The pieces performed are age-appropriate. The actors embody their roles really well, and you truly believe them. So, it's definitely worth checking out or even standing on stage yourself.

Very nice theater performances for young and "old," but especially the performances for children - they are also something for adults. Top performances and engagements 👍👍👍
