Weather change in the cathedral city
Regensburg: Today sun, clouds in the evening – rain, wind and significantly cooler at the start of the week
Regensburg starts Sunday in a friendly mood: In the morning, temperatures are at 8 degrees, by midday 23 degrees are expected. As the day progresses, cloud cover increases, and it becomes noticeably windier in the evening. Light rain is expected during the night into Monday. At the start of the new week comes the setback: Temperatures drop, and strong gusts are forecast.
Sunday in Regensburg: Lots of sun, later more clouds and freshening wind
Sunday starts cloudless and sunny, with a total of 9 hours of sunshine announced. In the morning it remains clear to partly cloudy, around midday it becomes cloudier. At the same time, the wind from the east picks up – typical for a weather change, where air masses increasingly mix and the sky finally becomes completely overcast in the evening. Light rain is expected at night.
Monday significantly cooler: High chance of rain, gusts up to 60 km/h possible
On Monday the weather change takes place: The maximum value is still given as 18 degrees. At the same time, the wind shifts to northwest and can be significantly stronger in short bursts than on average – gusts up to 60 km/h are possible. This is just below the threshold for classic storm gusts, but enough to make the weather feel "rough": loose objects can be blown around, and outdoors it feels much cooler than the thermometer suggests.
Light rain is also forecast. The probability of showers is given as 90 percent. For precipitation amounts, 7.8 l/m² and an additional 1.2 l/m² are given – such figures in forecasts are sometimes fed from different model or time windows and should therefore be read more as an orientation for "it will be wet, but not torrential" rather than as an exact amount for a specific district.
Tuesday remains cool and windy
On Tuesday, the cooler, more unsettled weather continues. The temperature will only reach 13 degrees. It will also remain windy, with strong gusts from the west. Thus, the fresh phase in Regensburg is likely to continue for now – with jacket weather instead of early summer feeling.
Pollen near the Danube: Relief at the start of the week, especially for grasses
There is at least a positive trend for allergy sufferers at the start of the week: Near the Danube in Bavaria, a medium to high load from grasses is expected for Sunday, but on Monday it should drop to none to low. The situation is also calming down for birch pollen: On Sunday the load is low, on Monday no load is indicated. For ambrosia, mugwort, alder, ash, hazel, and rye, no load is expected on either day.
After the sunny start, Regensburg is thus preparing for significantly fresher, windier, and at times wet weather – especially on Monday and Tuesday, strong gusts and noticeably lower temperatures will shape the picture.
